New Air Command™ F3 Wireless Air Compressor Kit
New Air Command™ F3 Wireless Air Compressor Kit from Firestone Industrial Products Offers Easy Air Pressure Control
INDIANAPOLIS (September 8, 2015) — Firestone Industrial Products Company, LLC, (FSIP) is giving customers the ability to conveniently adjust their air springs with the touch of a button thanks to the new Air Command™ F3 Wireless Air Compressor Kit. The new wireless design provides an instant air source to a vehicle’s air suspension system, giving users the freedom to adjust their air springs to accommodate different loads and road conditions from both inside and outside of the cab.
The Air Command F3 kit is a significant step forward in terms of reliability and ease of use. The kit utilizes industry-leading original equipment-grade electronics, a major upgrade from previous models, and bundles the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and valve block into a single unit for improved durability and streamlined installation. The new single-unit design has been tested to withstand pressurized water, road chemicals, salt spray, and immersion. The housing unit is also environmentally protected from mud, dust, extreme temperatures and rust, and can be mounted anywhere.
“We’ve gone to great lengths through our engineering process and rigorous systems testing to ensure the F3 outperforms the expectations of even our toughest users,” said Jeff Capek, light duty engineering manager, Firestone Industrial Products. “We’ve taken lessons learned from previous versions of our Air Command offering and created a product that will stand up to the rigors of the road—all in a new, compact design that offers both ease of use and the reliability our customers have come to expect from Firestone.”
The Air Command F3 allows users to control the amount of air in the air springs from up to 25 feet away, letting drivers visually inspect a vehicle’s ride height while loaded and adjusting air pressure as needed. The wireless remote features two memory preset buttons, an easy-to-read digital display, dual left and right psi and air pressure control readouts, side-to-side leveling capabilities, and a real-time pressure readout. The wireless control also utilizes a new sleep cycle and LED display that reduces energy use and improves battery life.
In addition to a technologically advanced ECU, the new kit comes with a Firestone 12V air compressor that includes a snorkel to route the intake filter up to extend compressor life when mounted under the truck. In total, there are only three wires to connect to the vehicle and one to the compressor, and the new design allows the air lines and wiring harness to all be plugged into the same side of the unit for simpler routing of lines and power supply. FSIP recommends its no-drill Air Accessory Mounting Kit, sold separately, to conveniently mount the ECU and air compressor.
